nowmic is an American lighting brand based in Houston, Texas. We make pendants, sconces, flush mounts, and chandeliers that look like they belong on the cover of a magazine — and cost a fraction of what they should.
Why we started
In 2024 we were three friends — two designers and a furniture maker — frustrated by the same gap every time we renovated a friend's apartment: the lighting that looked like a high-end editorial spread sold for $1,200 to $4,000 a fixture, and everything under $400 looked like it came from a hotel chain in 2008.
So we drew up six pendants, sourced ourselves to a workshop in Foshan that already produced fixtures for two brands we admire, and put them online with the prices Costco would have charged if Costco had taste. The first batch sold out in eleven days.

Standard shipping is free on every U.S. order — no minimum, no surcharge on heavier fixtures.
How we vet a design
About one in three designs we prototype never makes it to the site — usually because the proportions only work in a magazine, not above an actual dinner table. Every piece that ships has been hand-finished by the same workshop, photographed in real American homes (not studio Photoshop), and reviewed by at least one person on our team who'd actually hang it in their own house.
